Hanna Mia

Singer-Songwriter & Storyteller from Iceland

I tell stories and perform my own compositions on guitar, accompanied by jazzy vocals. My music is indie-folk with a touch of blues. I also open up the space for questions you might have about music, creativity, or how it is to live in Iceland. After 7 years of tour guiding, I have become a specialist in taking guests on a journey connecting music and my own life to the Icelandic culture and its peculiar local traditions.

The holiday season is coming up and we want to spend more quality time with our friends, families and work colleagues. Private bookings with up to 100 guests are available where I play my original music and bring in music and stories that fit to the big holiday of each month.

OCTOBER – Halloween Horror from Iceland
If there is something Iceland is famous for it is our ghost stories! Get ready for hair-raising folk songs and tales about the dark days of our past and why you should be more afraid of elves than the ghosts.

NOVEMBER – Thanksgiving and dried fish!
Travel with your close ones and learn about giving thanks on a volcanic island in the north.

DECEMBER – 13 Yule Lads and what they steal
Iceland is a true winter wonderland, but when it comes to our traditions around the end of the year, you will be surprised! Fun Icelandic winter traditions and music.

My Background

I'm Hanna Mia, an Icelandic musician and songwriter. My musical works have been highlighted in the media since my composition project, where I wrote a new song every day for a year. Apart from music, I have been a tour guide for 7 years and am used to taking care of visitors in Iceland and making you feel at home. The Setup For the Virtual Session

This experience is hosted in our Icelandic wooden house. Located in Reykjavík by the main church, Hallgrimskirkja, it is one of the oldest private homes still standing in the city. It feels like entering a typical Scandinavian home on the countryside, and yet we are right downtown. When the weather allows, we might even be outside on the porch and stream the concert in the midnight sun.
